Job Description
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant enterprise risk experience in the banking, insurance, or other financial services space.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of business continuity planning principles, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in designing and implementing business continuity plans, including disaster recovery management, within a complex organizational structure.
- Proficiency in conducting business impact analysis, risk assessments, and stress testing.
- Familiarity with applicable regulations and industry standards related to business continuity planning in the financial services sector.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and develop practical solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in coordinating and conducting business continuity exercises, including tabletop discussions and simulation exercises.
- Knowledge of BCP audits and their associated requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business continuity planning framework, policies, and procedures to ensure effective response and recovery from potential disruptions across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and manage risks related to business continuity, focusing on financial risk, operational risk, and other associated risks.
- Conduct business impact analysis to identify critical business functions, prioritize them, and develop appropriate continuity strategies and recovery objectives.
- Design and maintain business continuity plans, including disaster recovery plans, ensuring they align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and conduct training and awareness programs to ensure employees across the organization understand their roles and responsibilities in business continuity planning and disaster recovery management.
- Perform regular stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the effectiveness and adequacy of the business continuity plans.
- Coordinate and conduct business continuity exercises, including tabletop discussions and simulation exercises, to test the organization’s readiness and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure their business continuity plans align with the organization’s requirements and standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide relevant documentation and information for business continuity audits.
- Monitor and evaluate emerging trends and developments in business continuity planning, providing recommendations for enhancements to keep the organization resilient and prepared for potential disruptions.
- Collaborate with the Head of Risk to provide regular updates and reports on business continuity planning activities and findings to senior management.
- Foster a culture of business continuity awareness and readiness within the organization by continuously communicating and promoting the importance of business continuity planning.
- Stay informed about applicable regulations and standards related to business continuity planning and ensure compliance within the organization.
