Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant risk management experience in the banking, insurance, or other financial services space.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of enterprise risk management principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in risk assessment and management within various aspects of enterprise risk, including financial risk, operational risk, cyber risk, and fraud risk.
- Proficiency in utilizing risk assessment tools and methodologies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to risk management in the financial services sector.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and apply a risk-based decision-making approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of physical and digital risk spaces, including emerging trends and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk framework, policies, and procedures to ensure effective identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of risks across the organization.
- Monitor and analyze emerging risk trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to proactively identify potential risks and develop appropriate risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and manage financial risk, operational risk, cyber risk, fraud risk, and other pertinent risks associated with the business.
- Conduct risk assessments, utilizing appropriate risk assessment tools and methodologies, to identify vulnerabilities and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain risk registers, risk appetite statements, and key risk indicators to facilitate ongoing risk monitoring and reporting.
- Implement and oversee risk mitigation measures, controls, and procedures to reduce identified risks to an acceptable level.
- Work closely with the Director to provide regular risk reports and updates, highlighting key risk areas, trends, and recommended actions to senior management.
- Foster a risk-aware culture within the organization through ongoing training and communication initiatives to ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities in managing risks.
- Monitor the effectiveness of risk management controls and procedures, recommending improvements and implementing enhancements as needed.
- Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in physical and digital risk spaces to ensure the organization remains resilient to emerging risks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, industry peers, and partners, to stay abreast of industry developments and enhance risk management practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert on risk management for the organization, providing guidance and expertise to stakeholders at all levels.
